ACS 119th Founder's Day
to all ACSians out there, here's wishing you HAPPY FOUNDER'S DAY!
haha.even mr sam lee came round to give founder's day greetings. started today rushing to complete the new council website which has a really fresh image now. just hope mr seow approves of the webpage both design- and content-wise. i skipped b'fast and was really hungry during chem lect. however, i think the hungry feeling actually helped me focus during the lecture on carboxylic acids. i barely could stay awake during maths lecture on complex numbers. so complex i looked like a 'nodding-donkey'. yeah, had a heavy lunch. i think there's some science to explain why people feel sleepy after a meal.
school ended at 1240, rushed to complete my O1 publicity i/c column for council open house, then rushed to singapore indoor stadium for the celebrations with kah hung. it was a super huge AC gathering...amazing. everyone's in white n blue..and i see the school colours so proudly displayed everywhere - red, blue and gold. met up with joshua toh who kindly lent me his acjc uniform. yay! it's really much more comfortable than my present uniform. joined him at where his class sat...above north gate at the balcony. xiujun n kongjien was in the same block! what a coincidence, no need to run around to look for them. didn't realise kj is acjc interact president. cool! angel was playing in the band so no chance. =( anyway, there was an activity which involved the audience's participation. those sitting at the lower levels(mainly primary and junior school) had to go to the central opening..dance around, then when the pulse stopped(pulse created by drum)..everyone had to lay flat on the ground. it's a simulation of how the tsunami happened. interesting. rev dr norman wong was the host of the event and he's really good in his job. enjoyed my time there..everything so AC. home. there's a time for prayer and practically everyone was in silent prayer, heads down. truly an amazing sight! i've not witnessed anything like that before. truly our God is a great God. lest i forget, singing of the ACS anthem. that's certainly the best part..to sing those lines again.
Sing ACS forevermore. Our ACS Forever!
on monday, i went back to ACS(i) for honour's day. received the scholastic award for getting 6A1's during the 2003 O-level. not really 6, but a 5 + 1. didn't get to meet a lot of teachers as they were busy collating the 'O' level results that's released that day. most of the 7E ppl did well..except. YG2 did ok. haha...i was worried if shuuy did ok till i got her sms during lunch which reads : "YES!!!" well, i smiled in my heart knowing she had done well.
i cherish every moment spent with the ACS family today and yesterday. i truly deeply madly miss singing a school anthem that is sung proudly by all those who are a part of it. the school song partly reflects the school's spirit. well, i certainly lose respect for schools whose students themselves feel reluctant to sing with pride their anthem. the whole stadium was resounding with the echoes of ACS Forever today. during prayer, you can see the whole stadium going into prayer - heads down, hands clasped together. amazing.
my roommates commented i look better in ac uniform. more mature. haha. makes me wonder if i should've gone to acjc. however, sometimes you'll never know how good are the things that you already possess till you get something worse in exchange for the better ones. i cherish all that i have now, the present path that i'm journeying upon, the mistakes that i've committed, the lessons learnt, experiences gained, the little successes i did pick up along the way. aim to do something that's not easy to accomplish, they say. with God who walks by me and lights my path, i believe that The Best Is Yet To Be!

haha indeed we shall all be proud of the heritage in which God has brought us into... what more fitting than to honour God in all our ways, schooling included? sometimes i look upon my school and other schools, and wonder, will i EVER see one like the acs family? a subtle thing, singing the school song, but it reflects, really how much you love that song and the reason you sing it. because you probably have better, more catchy tunes to sing to than some old school song anyway, right? they can only frown upon what God has given us, without ever understanding what its about. they have yet to see our "spirit"- yet we ourselves try to focus more on God, His spirit! last but not least, i miss hearing and saying this, but yes, with God, the best is yet to be, ACS forever =)
you DO know what ppl like to say about AC right? you'll never be the best because it's always "yet to be"...hehe. how sad. =( saints rule! keke...=P
haha.. think it's very good that u love the ac family this much.. haha.. at least the fond memories u have of ac will serve u well.. haha.. think sometimes.. it is better to have it in ur memory then to have it in ur reality.. haha.. if u get wad i mean.. =D
